The Future is Digital: Introducing the SCIFC Greek ID Card

Let’s be real for a second: the "clipboard and wristband" era of Greek life has been a headache for years. Whether you’re a Brother trying to manage a door or a guest just trying to get inside, the old way was slow, messy, and—honestly—a little outdated for a campus like Penn State.

When we launched the State College Interfraternity Council (SCIFC) as an independent model last March, we didn't just want to do things differently; we wanted to do them better. Today, we’re officially making good on that promise.

We are hyped to announce the full rollout of the SCIFC Greek ID Card, powered by DoorList.

Why DoorList?

If you haven’t used it yet, DoorList is the new tech backbone of our social scene. We spent last semester in "stealth mode" testing it with five of our chapters—Acacia, Pi Kappa Alpha, Sigma Chi, Sigma Pi, and Tau Kappa Epsilon—and the feedback was unanimous: it’s a game changer.

No more "I'm on the list, I swear." No more sketchy wristband hand-offs. Your Greek ID lives right in your phone’s digital wallet.

Security Meets Tech

This isn’t just about making lines move faster (though it definitely does that). It’s about professionalizing our safety standards. By partnering with DoorList, we now have a real-time, virtual guest list for every single event.

The app generates a unique digital ID for every attendee that gets scanned at the door. When you pair that tech with our on-site security partners at Standing Stone, you get a safety protocol that is actually ironclad. As Sigma Chi President Charles Cocchiola put it, we aren't just following the standards for risk management anymore—we’re setting them.

A Message from the Top

We aren't the only ones excited about this. David Roselle, the Founder and CEO of DoorList, has been a massive partner in getting this off the ground. David started DoorList with a simple mission: to replace the uncertainty of event entry with a seamless, secure experience.

Since our independence in 2025, the SCIFC has been focused on three things: Brotherhood, Service, and Safety. Adopting the Greek ID Card is the latest step in showing the Penn State community that a student-led, locally focused council can handle the complexities of modern Greek life while upholding our 140-year tradition. We’re moving away from the "compliance-heavy" past and toward a future where we take accountability into our own hands.
